What changes in practice when you appoint a new statutory auditor
Appointing Clear Harbor mid-cycle does not erase the need to understand opening balances. Equity, retained earnings, and significant estimates carried forward must be tested even when the prior auditor’s opinion was unmodified.
Professional standards encourage communication with the predecessor. Clients who authorize that exchange early help us avoid re-performing work that was already well documented.
Expect a longer planning phase. We map systems, meet control owners, and often expand sample sizes in the first year while we build familiarity with your transaction patterns.
Budget calendar time for an opening-balance supplement if your prior auditor will not share working papers promptly. That contingency is less costly than discovering gaps two weeks before the filing date.
