When you request an estimate we collect your name, email address, selected engagement type, year-end date, and message content. Server logs may record IP address and browser type for security. Analytics cookies, if accepted, record pages viewed.

Purpose and legal basis

We process inquiry data to respond to engagement requests and to prepare fee estimates. Processing is based on steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and on our legitimate interest in securing the website.

Retention

Unsuccessful inquiry records are retained for up to twenty-four months unless a longer period is required for legal claims. Engagement working papers follow retention periods stated in the engagement letter and applicable professional standards in Japan.

Your rights

Subject to Japanese law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal data we hold about you, and you may object to certain processing. Contact us at the email above. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent personal information protection authority in Japan.

International transfers

If email or hosting providers process data outside Japan, we use providers that offer appropriate contractual safeguards. Engagement files for Japanese statutory audits are primarily stored and reviewed within Japan unless the engagement letter states otherwise.
